Welcome to Minnesota's Round Barns
Driving the highways and byways of Minnesota, you are sure to see numerous barns dotting the landscape. Most of these are active working barns reminding us that agriculture is still a dominant part of the state's economy. Occasionally, if you travel widely enough in the rural areas, you may see a barn that is unique among all the others because of its shape, a round barn.
Minnesota is home to about fifty of these unique structures, although it is said that at one time, there were more than 180 of them existed in the state. This website is dedicated to these round barns, their history, architecture, and their preservation.
